The Smile That Never Fades

There’s nothing more satisfying than seeing a happy and smiling child. A child’s smile is worth more than all the money in the world. There is nothing more beautiful than smiling and making others smile.
Making a difference, it has to be spontaneous. If it’s not…there’s some kind of egotistical thing going on. That’s a red flag. You hope you impact people on the deepest level you are capable of at the time. Sometimes you hit it, sometimes you don’t. You’re trying. Giving is key to the world you seek to live in. If you take, you alone gain. If you give or share then two at least are enriched. And you will realize that when you reach out to those in need, do not be surprised if the essential meaning of something occurs. You also learn to stand up for someone who is in need which built confidence in me to stand up for myself at times when required. Thats what, the work of Prabodhini trust taught the 21st club of photographers while working on this project. Prabodhini trust, an institution for the care of mentally challenged has a beautiful tagline, the problem of mentally handicapped is not a family but a social responsibility. Mentally Handicapped are not a Problem, They are rather Problem affected. Prabodhini trust accept such Children in their Childhood. Even though the problems of each handicapped child is different. Co-operation and devotion of parents, care taking staff and the society at large has contributed in significant way to overcome all types of problems.

The executive producer of this documentary, Mr. Sagar Kolhe was very keen and ambitious for this project along with everyone working with him. Weeks of planning, months of shooting and editing finally paid off when we look at the response from the people. While working with the staff of Prabodhini trust we realized many things, simply put- This is the only perfection there is, the perfection of helping others. This is the only thing we can do that has any lasting meaning. This is why we’re here. To make each other feel safe. Some strive to make themselves great. We help others see and find their own greatness. If you’re not making someone else’s life better, then you’re wasting your time. Your life will become better by making other lives better. Life is not about receiving. It’s about giving, knowing that someone might learn, understand or grow that little bit from the experience.

The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, and to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well. There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up. When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed. Give freely to the world these gifts of love and compassion. Do not concern yourself with how much you receive in return, just know in your heart it will be returned. It’s not enough to have lived. We should be determined to live for something. Hats off to 21st The Club Of Photographers for beautifully capturing the special kids.
